Pension reform seems to be one way to make significant inroads to solving our state's enormous fiscal problems. Knowing the power of the unions and their determination to maintain the status quo, change will be a tough battle. On the positive side, the more one leans about the current pension system and the proposed reforms, the more the reform seems fair and logical. I believe that it can be sold to much of the public. But we don't seem to be getting the word out. If we are successful in getting an initiative on the ballot we still need to win the vote. Isn't it time to get going at local levels all across the state.
